Reserved for Anne: Featherweight Earrings
This set of earrings were a joy to work on as they allowed my funky side to express itself. They started with two off-loom beaded flowers that I learned to make in Maggie Meister's "War of the Roses" class. I added two handmade polymer clay flower pods secured with Crystal Pearls (made by Carmella Patzlaff) onto each earring. Then I added vintage glass cabs, hive beads, flower beads, and the star of the show, embroidered feathers! The earrings were backed in lambskin and edged with Sterling Silver Plated Japanese Seed Beads. Finally, they were hung from Sterling Silver hooks made by Pacific Silver Works.
They measure approximately 3 1/2" from the top of the hook, but coming in at only 9 gm each, are deceptively light.
